Just a note, I’ll be chatting it up at the Haunt today. Stop on by. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/the_haunt_at_pnr

OK, my friends, The People You Know; The Sex They Have has just received it’s very first review! Yay! Manic Readers reviewed and here’s what the reviewer had to say: The People You Know, the Sex They Have had me engrossed in the mature and respectful characters showing that erotica book can also be classy.” You can see the entire review here.

Remember to stop by and check out my free read (first chapter from my novel Imperfection). Since we’re about a year out from publication, I thought I would mock up a cover for it. What’s funny is that I went to Microsoft Office Clipart online to find an abstract picture that I could use for free. The one I found there, wasn’t abstract at all. It’s of a couple engaged in a tango (I’m guessing it’s a tango from the legs, arms and head positioning, but I could be wrong). The couple isn’t exactly how I picture Candace and JB, but I just like the feel of it. Take a look.

Today is the eve of the release of Madden ‘08. As some of you may know, I do not play sports games, typically. I am much more into my RPGs, Shooters, Fighting Games (yes, I have already completed Soul Calibur IV, thank you very much), Action/Adventure, etc. But, I feel compelled to go to my local blockbuster and spend time today with all of the nuts camped out to get their copies. The store is sponsoring a Madden ‘07 tournament to boot, the winner of course, getting their own free copy of the new version. I’m going to imbibe a little and stop by. There is nothing I like better than listening to competitive fellows goad each other :)

One more announcement, yours truly will be chatting at The Romance Junkies tomorrow night. Stop by and chat with me live.

Fetish Con 2008. Oh my goodness, I am not a fetishist at all, but I feel compelled to go to this thing. It’s only a 20 minute drive from my house this year and, well, I figure it’s divine providence. I could potentially get some promoting done. God knows, I haven’t done enough of that on my own. Anyway, “on to the breach, dear friends!” If any of you are going, let me know, I’d love to say “hi.”

One more thing. I am now officially a social networker! Confession: The idea of social networking both in person and online has generally given me the hives. Don’t get me wrong, I know a whole lot of people. That happened naturally over time, and I’m comfortable with that. But I swear every time I think about myspace I think about kids getting bullied, girls getting stalked, and just the general promotion of high school into the adult life. OK, you may throw eggs at me now. Any-hoo. Because I am a writer and think that I should respect my chosen profession enough to promote it the ways available to me, I am now on FaceBook! Yep. I am. Come out, friend me, make me a believer in all that is online social networking!

I have posted the hottest free read EVER. This is not a PG read, a PG-13 read, an R read, or even a TV-MA (hee hee) read. This is the working first chapter of my full length erotic novel, Imperfection. Check it out here. I’d love to here what you think.

Oh my God Brett Favre. Seriously, dude? Seriously? Check out my Sports Stack to get my opinions on this fiasco.

I know I promised to post contest results, however, I’m not sure I can post a couple that I got, which leaves me still open to receiving some stories. So send them in already!

July 27, 2008

Guess who’s sponsoring a contest? Me. Me. ME!!! See details here!

June 26, 2008

So the date is closing in… My anthology is almost ready for public consumption! You wanna help me decide how to celebrate the novel release? Let’s see… there’s champagne (always good), a day at the beach (could be done with champagne), and adult activities (illegal on many public beaches where I live but certainly inclusive of the champagne and frolicking in the ocean).

June 18, 2008

Goodness me, folks! It’s been a long time since I’ve been here. I’m sorry. So very sorry! But, things have been a little hectic, y’n’a’mean?

Reminder! The People You Know, The Sex They Have will be released on July 7, 2008. Stop by the Lyrical Press website and take a gander at the write up… http://www.lyricalpress.com/the_people_you_know_the_sex_they_have.html . Also, I’d like to say that I’ve “refreshed” the excerpts for each piece and you’re welcome to take a gander.

I will also be featured in the Lyrical Press Newsletter for July… I’ll be talking about romance and what it means to a girl like me. You won’t want to miss it!

Today I’m chatting with Fallen Angel Review Chatters and Joyfully Reviewed! It’s gonna be fun.

June 1 , 2008

Hey everyone, did you miss me? I missed you! Memorial Week was eventful for me. Well… not really, I went to some parties, imbibed a little, watched a ton of basketball, and took a good look at my life. My literary life that is.

Reminder my lovelies! The People You Know, The Sex They Have will be released on July 7, 2008. You can catch quick blurbs of these stories over on my Fiction Page.

I’m really proud of them and the fact that there is such emotional investment in each and every one of these stories. I like to say that I write erotic fiction. My stories have sex in them, explicit sex, but so do most of our adult lives :-) I like my stories to be real and for you to get to know these characters the way you know your best friends, even the way you know yourself. They are open and raw, and I know you’ll enjoy them.

I will be chatting at Joyfully Reviewed Wednesday night (June 4) from 9-10 PM Eastern. Here’s the site: http://www.coffeetimeromance.com/Chat. html

May 23, 2008

Happy Memorial Day!  This weekend Aubrey’s going into stealth mode. I have a re-write to complete and barbecue ribs to enjoy, so I’ll check in with you later.

In the mean time. I’m gonna put up a link to a horror anthology written by my friends at the Parasitorium. I haven’t read it yet, but if you like that sort of thing, check them out.

May 11, 2008

Happy Mother’s Day! I sent my mom some flowers and I’m getting her a Wii (she’s very techy). What did you do for the mother in your life?

Aubrey’s not a parent. Since I don’t live in the same geographical vicinity of my mother, I’m going to celebrate by having some beers, having one or two people up for shenanigans over, and watching the two NBA West Semi-Final games… loudly.

Psst: have you found the poems hidden on the site yet?

May 8, 2008

Alright so the images that made your head hurt are gone. The site is much easier to read now, see? Yes, that’s better. But that angel is going to pop up here and there again.

Soooo… You have had excerpts for Hall Monitor available for your perusal for a couple months now. I have added the now… um… much anticipated excerpt for the third tale in The People You Know, The Sex They Have. The third story is titled (tentatively) “Sahara’s on a Plane to Munich”. The excerpt is an unedited version and very short, but I had to give the people what the wanted! You can get to it on the fiction page.

May 5, 2008

Happy Cinco de Mayo, folks! Also Happy Grand Opening to Lyrical Press, Inc!!! Let’s have margaritas, buy a good book, and do the Mexican Hat Dance!

Is my new background giving you a headache? It’s kinda giving me a headache. But, I think it looks cool. We’ll try it for a couple of days before we dash it!

 May 3, 2008

Announcement!!! Lyrical Press, Inc’s grand opening will be on Monday, May 5, 2008. Cinco de Mayo! YAY. The book store is already open and authors are gearing up for the debuts of their wonderful novels.

To celebrate LPI’s opening, we are having a week long party over on the LPI Yahoo group. You can click this link to join.

There will be giveaways, free reads and all kinds of excitement to be had this week. Come by, join! We can’t wait to see you there!

Yes, in case you’re wondering, my… uh top notch… coverage of the NBA Playoffs continues over on my sports page.

So folks, I’m going to participating in a ton of chats coming up soon. I’d post when they are, but I really want you to join the LPI group, so I’ll just say that the dates are there!

April 19, 2008

Alright, I’m putting up the new cover for The People You Know, The Sex They Have. See it? July 7, 2008 is the release date. I’m very excited about it, hope you are, too.

Yes, I posted my NBA Playoff bracket over on the sports page! I’m standing behind my picks people.

April 6, 2008

Good news, everyone! (Yep, I’ve been watching too much Futurama) My next release with Lyrical will be out in July. The Kiln, Hall Monitor, and a “bonus track” will be bundled into a single anthology: The People You Know, The Sex They have. I think that’s a cool way to market the work and I’m thrilled about it.

Did you have a good weekend? I did. I met some writing deadlines, went to a party or two, and generally relaxed. Now it’s back to the grind.

March 29, 2008

Alright everyone,  I’ve got an announcement to make. My current publishing house, Dark Eden Press will be closing its doors on April 1, 2008. My work will still be available there until that date. Shortly thereafter, you’ll be able to find me over at my new publisher, Lyrical Press. I’m thankful to both DEP for giving me my start and to Lyrical for picking me up.

Because of my new move, I’m getting new covers… sort of :-) You’ll notice I’ve added a *newish* cover for Hall Monitor and a completely new version of the Kiln will be available very soon.

I’d also like to take this time to tell those folks that wanted more from my short, The Kiln, to get ready. The new release with Lyrical will be the extended mix, the director’s cut, the rest of the story. If you thought it was hot before, just you wait. If you had questions at the end… well, I challenge you to read the update and not leave it with your jaw dropped! Can’t wait!

March 23, 3008

Hope you’ve had a good Easter (note the robin’s egg blue of the site). I have and now I’m back to the grind. The writing grind that is. I’m pleased to tell you that I have some new content all over the site waiting for your ready consumption!

March 4, 2008

Hello folks! I know it’s been awhile, but I’ve been swamped with projects lately and have had little time to relax or to post. I still don’t have time, but I assure you, after this weekend, I’ll be diligent again. Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, I’m going to become a vegetable. I’m not going to do anything but lay around my house (OK so I’ll clean it first, but that’s it!). Hopefully, I’ll regain my usual energy and be back to my frequent posting self!

After taking a breath and getting organized this coming weekend, I hope to post some news about what I’m publishing next. In the works is the follow up story to The Kiln and some other pieces, but I haven’t decided which is going to take priority. I really want to publish something erotic next, but I also want the work to be something intense and frightening because I’d like to represent my speculative fiction side as well… Hmmm… I actually wrote a story that fits the bill, but I don’t know if the world is ready for it yet… It’s dark people, very dark, but it’s also incredibly arousing if I do say so myself.

Maybe you’ll remember way back in November I was working to complete a full length erotic novel for submission. Well, I completed it, but I wasn’t a hundred percent happy. Now, I’d like to announce that discipline has finally paid off (I knew it was good for something) and I have revised the novel a thousand times and can truly refer to it as FINISHED. YAY! Please be happy with me because it was truly a labor of love and heartbreak. I don’t think I’ve ever been more emotionally attached to a piece.

The novel is called Imperfection and I hope to provide publishing news on it soon. Without giving too much away, I’ll say it’s about a couple who loves each other to pieces and has loved each other to pieces for a very long time. The novel is poignant, touching, and too hot for prime time! Is it bad to say that I’m in love with the couple in the novel? I know I created them *sort of* but I don’t want to take too much responsibility, they are alive and wonderful without my help. And did I mention that the sex in the novel is not to be believed? Whew!
